Although the 48-team World Cup is generating unprecedented trading activity on Kalshi, the event is also producing an equally significant advantage for the prediction market: a substantial increase in mainstream brand visibility.

YouGov assessed over 2,000 companies in its well-known BrandIndex, pinpointing 48 brands that are notably ahead among U. S. consumers because of their associations with the World Cup. The privately owned Kalshi ranked at No. 37, situated right above Fox, which serves as the main U. S. broadcaster for the tournament.

"The ranking shows that official sponsorship still matters, but it is not the only route to impact. Some of the strongest gains are coming from brands that make the tournament part of everyday fan behavior: what people drink, snack on, wear, collect, watch, play and share during the FIFA World Cup.”

Kalshi stands out as the sole operator of a prediction market featured on the YouGov list detailing World Cup brand winners, notably surpassing all conventional sportsbook operators. The analysis by YouGov assessed consumer metrics from BrandIndex members over an 18-day period leading up to the tournament and compared these metrics with data gathered after the inaugural match.

Kalshi Brand Gaining Prominence

As the World Cup approached, Kalshi held a strong position, commanding approximately 90% of the “yes/no” market in the U. S. In simple terms, if a consumer thinks of a prediction market platform, Kalshi is likely the first name that comes to mind.

This heightened visibility has transformed into unprecedented trading activity since the tournament began. Although Kalshi has experienced growth in its financial derivatives outside of sports, contracts related to sports events continue to lead in the prediction market arena. The World Cup has amplified this trend, resulting in some of the highest trading volumes for the exchange on record.

These fluctuations in trading are yielding tangible advantages in how consumers view the brand. The analysis from YouGov incorporated a metric known as Ad Impact Score (AIS), which gauges “changes in Ad Awareness, Buzz, and Consideration, with added emphasis on the Consideration aspect. ”

Following the World Cup events, Kalshi achieved an AIS of 23.4 along with a change in consideration of 7.4. This performance positioned it just behind Doritos, while surpassing well-known brands such as Denny’s, Mattel, and Western Union.

Significance of the Situation

Within the investment sector, strong brand recognition is regarded as an intangible asset, which plays a role in establishing competitive advantages—something that Kalshi is creating within the prediction market domain. This achievement is particularly noteworthy for a company that was established merely eight years ago.

The gaming sector comprises some highly regarded brands, and while it remains uncertain whether index providers will classify the privately owned Kalshi as a gaming entity or a financial services firm, it stands as the only company related to betting on the YouGov World Cup list and ranks as the fourth highest among financial firms.
